Very exciting in our house today, we woke to baby :D hopefully another on its way, has done it's first pip :D
This is my bonded pairs first baby. I know they won't feed it until between 8-12 hours old but how do I know they are feeding it?
How can I tell if the babies are hungry?

The hen is in and out of the box all the time, is this normal?
Dad just sitting with baby

Thanks in advance!
I am loving the wee cheeps coming from the box!:grey tiel:

O you'll know when they are feeding the baby, it is the loudest sound in the world it seems. It's a very fast-paced cheeping. The babies cry when they are hungry, you'll hear that too.

The mom is probably stocking up on food to feed the baby with. Good luck!

You can generally hear when the babies are being fed. Listen to their normal cute little chirps.. When they're being fed you will hear a similar chirp at a super super fast pace. It's so cute lol.

I think it's normal for the parents to be in and out of the box quite frequently while babies are hatching. My hens always do it, then when the cocks decide its their turn, the hen stays in with the kids :p
