Aviary progress UK

Hey guys so my birds have been in a “temporary” aviary for the last 3.5 years! This aviary is a 6X4 shed with an angled mesh in front of the main door and a window. This wasn’t supposed to be their home for this amount of time! But finally after being in our new home just over a year the aviary has been started and is almost done! Obviously we had to concentrate on our house first which is why it’s taken so long and I wanted it done properly so that it would last for as long as I wanted it to. So I will describe how it will be finished and attach some progress pictures for you all and at a later date I will add the finished pictures! So this aviary is going to be planted as I want it quite natural and enriching for my birds (this is a mixed aviary) I’m going to have a red palm, grasses and a broom or butterfly bush planted in the outside flight with a dirt floor (live floor) the inside flight will be kind of small as it will only be needed for the birds who don’t want to be in the outside flight so mostly in freezing cold weather. The roof is completely covered and at the moment the sides haven’t even been done and hardly any rain water gets in which is great as I will be hosing down plants and raking the aviary floor daily. Inside the shed part of the aviary I will have the small indoor flight as well as a hospital cage/brooder, incubator and 2-4 cages for birds that need separating or breeding seperate to others as well as food storage. The inside is a concrete base and the base of the whole aviary is brick and the frame is wood with felt roof on the shed and plastic roof on the outside flight.

what should be optimum cage size for a pair of cockatiels with box placed outside of their cage?
Hi emamm786 I’m sorry but I’ve only ever kept mine in an aviary so I wouldn’t be able to recommend a size. I’m sure some of the other breeders or even google could answer your question
The outside is all finished now and the birds have moved in! The inside flight and storage hasn’t been done yet but inside is fully insulated. Unfortunately my neighbours have been moaning a lot so I’ve had to go from 3 pairs of cockatiels down to just one pair! I put my foot down at not getting rid of them all! My two pairs who have gone have been given to people I know. The inside of the aviary does have 4 plants but two have been shredded by the birds already lol more plants will be going in soon
