I am new to this website and I am new to cockatiels. I want to get a cockatiel in the summer around my birthday and I am trying to be prepared for when I get it. I am planning on making all of the perches myself from trees in my yard (yes they are safe and yes I will make sure I use non-toxic trees) so I know it is bird-safe, and I was wondering; Can I leave the tree leaves on when I put them in the cage? It isn't of huge importance to have them but I was thinking it could provide entertainment and a feeling of safety for the bird, but I don't know if the leaves are toxic in any way. Also I was wondering if there were any ways to clean the branches so the leaves stay on if its safe.
Please keep it clean and appropriate!
