I knew it was coming because of her behaviour. Peppy has laid an egg. How can I help now? I know about daylight and not encouraging her or removing it too soon. Is there anything else I need to do? Fortunately it is in her cage and not under the settee where she has been spending time lately.

Anything that was triggering her hormonal behavior should be removed from her cage and she should not be allowed to go near it. It can be something as simple as food that does it, my 'tiel becomes hormonal over millet sprigs.

Don't give her warm mushy foods. Cover her cage and give her 12-14 hours of darkness for the next week when she goes to sleep at night. Make sure she has access to a cuttlebone or lots of calcium to help prevent egg binding. Giving her foods with vitamin A, vitamin E, calcium, magnesium, protein, and fats will help prevent egg binding too. Hopefully she stops laying eggs soon. :)
