Yes, if it's only been two or three days since you brought him home, he just needs a little more time to adjust to his new surroundings. Some tiels pick up on it pretty quick, others don't.
Advice needed
Hello, I brought my cockatiel Cobi home 2 days ago. He seemed fine that day but yesterday started squawking loudly and kept jumping to the floor of his cage and running round and round. I called the aviary I bought him from and the lady said he's stressed or afraid and asked if he could see birds through the window. I said he could so she advised that I close the curtains. That seemed to work yesterday but (with the curtains still closed) he's doing the same thing today. Now he's just sitting on the floor of the cage, squawking occasionally and is picking up bits of bark. It looks like he's trying to eat them.
Does he just need more time to settle or is there something else I should be doing?
