On May 10th my soulmate passed away after nearly 2 years battling prostate cancer. Thanks to him I was introduced to cockatiels and learned the joys of having them in our family. Our little birdies are the ones fhat are helping me to find a reason to carry on , now that a big part of me is gone .

My heart is with you. I can't imagine your pain, but take comfort in your fids, and the joy they bring you. Smile when you see them, knowing he introduced you to the love of tiels, and your love of them comes from your love of him.

I am so sorry for your loss - there are no words for situations like this, but I wish you all the strength you need, and that you find comfort in both your tiels and all the memories you have of your husband. With love from Aitch, Dave and Qashqai xxx

Teresa, I'm so sorry for your loss. My Dad has been fighting that horrible disease (prostate cancer) for 19 years with surgery, radiation treatments, and now more tests this week to see if we can find anyone who can do anything more for him as the cancer is still present and growing again.

My heartfelt condolences to you. :(

Thanks again guys You are all very kind. Tielbob - it is a horrible silent and devastating disease . I am sorry about your Dad. I hope you find a very good specialist that will help your Dad to enjoy many years with quality of life. Lots of love for all of you X x Teresa

Thank you, Teresa. Again I'm sorry for your loss and what you and your husband have had to go through. I have lost my grandfather and other family to this disease, too. As you said, it is silent and devastating indeed.

I hope your birds are of comfort to you. I find Percy is a calming presence in times of trouble in my life. He sticks close to me and I know he senses my distress - he points to the door while leaning up against my chin and goes on 'guard duty' as if protecting me.
