We have this thread:- http://talkcockatiels.com/showthread.php?t=2786 that gives you the basic signs to look for in a sick bird. Usually we just add our concerns or ask for advice in the Cockatiel Health section. I would be a bit reluctant to diagnose or to recommend a specific treatment through the forum and would much rather the owner took their bird to the vets. I know there are general guidelines that should be followed, but I think in the case of things like a broken feather then by posting a new thread in Cockatiel Health, you will get all the answers and information from other members. Of course, there is still no substitute for taking your bird to an avian vet when there is a problem.

I've seen this type of section on another forum i go on too. 
It is a great idea, but i'm not sure that we have a large enough member base just yet that it would work well. At the moment we're a small enough community that most posts are viewed by member whenever they're online so the health questions are answered quickly without being in a specific 911 forum, if you know where i'm coming from? It's definitely a good idea though, and one we'll keep in mind for when we have a larger member base. :thumbu:
