Hi how full must a 8 week old baby crop be now that he is basically eating on its own. He stil enjoys his formula twice a day. He eats 6 mills during each feeding. His crop goes down much faster now and I'm wondering when it's flat should I try get him to eat more? He enjoys vegetables broccoli and other soft veg, boiled eggs, millet, budgie seeds sunflower seeds a nice variety of foods. I'm stil struggling to get him to drink water by himself

Keep feeding him twice a day, morning and evening. Make sure you monitor his weight every day as well to make sure he doesn't drop too much weight. If he acts like he is starving where the afternoon feed used to be, you can feed him in the afternoon but less than usual.

Yeah, no problem. Have you ever seen him drink out of the water bowl? A breeder told me that if you have more than one water bowl/dish in the cage, the bird will usually become more curious and try one of them out. Mine took quite long before he started drinking as well, but once he found out about the water, he happily drank lots. Since the chicks can only get water out of the formula, you need to keep feeding him until you notice him drinking from the water bowl.

Okay, some just take longer so I wouldn't worry too much. Just make sure you keep feeding him formula until you see him drinking from the bowl since that is the only way he is getting water right now. Here is a link about when baby cockatiels should start drinking water and what to do if they don't. Hopefully it helps. 😊 Can Baby Cockatiels Drink Water & How To Get Them To Drink?
