Yes, he is a pearl, and males can be pearls but they usually don't keep the pearls after their first molt. Since he is only six/seven months old, he is probably going through the molt right now or going to go though it soon. It looks like his face is a bright yellow and it does look like the pearl markings are leaving as well. Was he ever DNA'd? I would just wait and see if the pearl markings leave and if they do, then he is for sure a male.
