Hi tomorrow baby Wil be 35 days I read that you are supposed to feed them 7 am and 7pm... Is this right, and another article says 7am, 3pm 11pm.. This confuse me. What do I give him in between he has shown no interest in soft foods he only wants his formula

At 35 days old I would for sure cut back to two feedings a day of baby formula. Early morning, and about 7 pm in the evening. BE SURE you have regular cockatiel pellets ( or mixture ) of what you feed adult birds in his cage as well. This is the proper way to ween them off baby food and get them to start eating adult food.

I think I may have told you wrong! I was going based on OUR babies which are now almost 7 weeks old! Yes, you actually should be feeding them THREE times a day on formula but still offer them adult food. Little by little, they will start eating it and less of the baby formula. Sorry for the mix-up!

Fed all size birds for 40 years, even tube....., My 4-5 week old tiels are still om 3 feedings a day. Your birds will adapt to (the flock ritual) I only do late or maybe thru night feedings on 1 day olds to 5 day olds depending on circumstances. right now I have 4 week old and 5.3 wk olds all on 3 feedings,...I do 8:30-9ish AM, around 3, then 9- 9:30 ish. BUT it does depend on the chicks. I watch for hydration, weight appearances, When they empty, stage the pins are coming in....... ( my parents, previous chicks). Please relax.....smile nervous feeders get nervous chicks smile...... You will hear MANY responses, different breeders newbies and folks that breed in flights of 50 plus- commercial. and anyone with money can write a book. Remember that. :) hope it helps. :)

Hi there thanks for the message he is turning 6 weeks tomorrow and he eats soft foods now and millet spray, I notice he does not really want to eat 15 cc formula any more so I stil feed him 3 x day formula but just less he tells me when he is full. But I'm so pleased he is finely enjoying soft foods I'm not sure how to get him to drink the water he is to use to syringe. He had his first flight on the 1st Sept, and his first bath he loves to get groomed and so affectionate
