Thanks allot do you remember the weight? Mine looks a little bit smaller Wil take a photo I had to pull him from nest box when he or she was only 4 hours old he is doing great. If you are wondering why I pulled him, it's because I found the first born dead from peck marks one of the parents was probably trying to get a feeding response and it killed him I was so scared the same Wil happen to little malachi, he stays in a homemade brooder and eats well no probs with his crop or anything. Mine has red eyes and yellow pin feathers

Yeah, no problem. I'm sorry, but I don't remember his weight at the moment. And it's good you pulled him out of the box. Sometimes the parents are really good with their chicks and sometimes they aren't. I was planning on leaving mine with the parents to feed, and then I was just going to handle them often to allow for them to be hand tame, but unfortunately the father started to pluck the head so I had to pull him for hand feeding. It sounds like you have a lutino chick. Do you know the mutations of the parents?

By about a month old, you could wing spot sex them to try determine what it is. It worked for me when I tried it on my three month old cockatiel. I will send you the screenshots I took of them. Depending on the character, you might be able to tell very early, but that isn't always accurate either because sometimes you can have a very docile male, or a very vocal female. Or the best bet is to DNA it, and you can do that at any time. The results usually come back within a week.

Mine slept lots so don't worry too much about that. Mine started really getting active around 3 weeks old. I started offering him toys to play with, and at first he didn't play too much, but now he is really playful. So just give them time, but they should be more active soon.
