I have a 10 month old male cockatiel who is a great singer and talker. I've taught him 7 tunes and his name. About 3 weeks ago I think he started going through puberty (rubbing his rear end on the cage). Now he is talking and singing less and less and doesn't only occasionally responds directly to my whistles. HoweverSince he was 2 months old he has been in the same cage as my 11 year old female cockatiel. I tried separating them into separate cages in different rooms but they still whistle back and forth. He does not want to be in a cage at night by himself. He goes bananas. Will he grow out of this and go back to his large repertoire? Any suggestions as what I should do?
