  1. Protect walls from bird

    Cockatiel Talk
Hi, Talk Cockatiels! :-) Thank you for helping me with so many bird issues. My two cockatiels have a much better lifestyle now, as a result of advice I got on this website. I now have a problem that's affecting my home, though: My one bird is chewing on the walls. Does anyone have a tip to...
  2. Cardboard Box

    Cockatiel Talk
I just wanted to announce--or agree--that a cardboard box is the best cockatiel toy ever invented! One of my two birds, Zeke, is very energetic and chewy. He's hard to handle because, in addition to flying almost constantly, he also needs to chew almost constantly, to entertain himself. And I...
  3. Biting her cage grate?

    Cockatiel Talk
I've noticed that sometimes Maya goes to the bottom of her cage and bites the cage grate? I like to keep it clean, so there's usually little to no droppings on it. She has chewable/shredding toys in her cage too... Is this normal?

    Your Cockatiels Health

He keeps trying to eat our chairs and couches with cloth material on them. He gets angry if you try to stop him and hisses! When he's not chewing on the furniture or things...
  6. Odd Behaviour

    Your Cockatiels Health
Quite recently I have noticed that Charlie would sit on a perch and would start chewing on the bars of the cage, then Oskie begin to display the same behaviour. I thought this was because they had nothing to chew on in their enclosure so I gave them some safe branches with leaves and different...
  7. Balsa wood safe?

    Your Cockatiels Health
Hi everyone :) Billy has a wooden ladder I purchased at a pet store, and I covered it with a piece of untreated balsa wood from the craft store... I came home today and the lil bugger has been chewing the edges of the balsa wood, but not ingesting them ( at least I don't think he's been...
