  1. Your Cockatiels Health
So my cockatiel does what you can see in the photo and normally is just for a bit or until i open the cage so i think it's a sort of attention-seeking behaviour just to get out of the cage but i want to make sure it's nothing serious. Anybody knows what is it and why she does it?
  2. Cockatiel Talk
Hi! Just curious, no issues! Why are most cockatiels so obsessed with feet? Mine loves to sit by or on them and sing to them (with the odd unappreciated nibble, thank you very much), and I’ve seen so many videos online of it too. Anyone got any ideas why they have this obsession? I can’t find...

  4. Cockatiel Breeding
I have two babies at the moment both around the same age (fledging age), currently still on 3 feeds a day as they're slow to take interest in seed. No issues health wise with the babies, steady weight if theyre not gaining (at fledging age). One baby constantly cries like it wants food even...

Hello~ My mum gets kind of dejected after Cody begins scratching/itching his head almost evertime we scritch his head. Does this mean we are doing something that makes him uncomfortable? He also somtimes hisses and tries to bite (he does not do any damage) while we scritch although he seems to...

Hello~ :lutino: I can tell for the most part what my tiel is trying to tell me through his body language. But, there's this one thing I just cannot dechipher, and nor have I seen it on the internet guides about bird behaviour; Cody, in his cage, goes to the side on his perch and grabs a bar...

Hi everyone! I'm a new tiel owner, I've had Larry for 4 days now and he's super sweet! He's still very young he's 3 months old and I've noticed something in the past days I've had him. He grinds his beak a LOT! I know this is supposed to be a good sign as it means he's happy and comfortable...

I have my first tiel, we had him two weeks (he was pre-loved) so is semi tame, but still settling in, he's doing very well though so far. Something I have observed so far is that he only seems to talk to men, I have had a variety of people visit and when a man comes, bang he's off. But women...

Wow... I haven't been on here in a while! Heya guys :) Basically, I've had my cockatiel, Cosmo for almost 7 months now. We bought him as a bird who hadn't been hand reared, and so I know that he'll never be quite as tame and loveable as other cockatiels, but I'd still like to know where I stand...

My new 12 week old cockatiel, Lulu, is very shy. She only gives me the occasional chirp or whistle, when I'm in the room. But as soon as she is alone she starts singing beautifully. Lulu also never bows her head for me to pat her, I found this strange because my old biddy would do it all the...

Hi I'm in the UK and have a 12yr old crazy male cockatiel. He's usually pretty well behaved ish and I know how to sort him out if he's a bit bothered. But today for the past 5 hours, he has been quite agitated and will not settle and do the usual puff up and snooze thing. Today has also been...

  14. Your Cockatiels Health
Quite recently I have noticed that Charlie would sit on a perch and would start chewing on the bars of the cage, then Oskie begin to display the same behaviour. I thought this was because they had nothing to chew on in their enclosure so I gave them some safe branches with leaves and different...

Lunar has been with us for a few months now and is a loving and cheeky little guy - with me. He lives in my room because we have cats and a dog so he isn't allowed in the rest of the house. He has a good diet and is let out for at least 4 hours everyday and I train/play with him frequently. Due...

My tiel does this weird thing when I go to scratch his chin he hisses like he's sick of me, but as I take away my hand he chirps and walks towards me with his head to one side like he wants me to scratch his chin! So why does he chase me away if he wants me to cuddle him? (geez I sound like I'm...
